Mentor Program

There is a great need in the Sacramento Region for adult female mentors to help female students succeed by answering important questions they have about "real world" experiences and possible career opportunities. Our goal is to work with middle-school and high-school aged female students interested in technology, life sciences, engineering, science, math, and law. SAGE mentors provide encouragement, support, friendship, guidance and act as role models for their mentees.

SAGE coordinates with Sacramento area school districts and provides resources for their mentor programs. We are currently partnering with Grant Joint Union School District to provide female mentors for its Technology, Justice and Business Academies' female students. The School District takes care of all necessary background checks and contracts with a health care provider for TB testing. The Mentor Coordinator for the Academies delivers an orientation that provides all necessary information including an Orientation Manual, fingerprinting and other information. SAGE Committee members are currently acting as mentors for this program so if you have any questions, please contact the Director listed below.
